Many thanks for your comments.

I'm sure I don't have any 'old' cygwins lying around having done a
comprehensive search.  The one I'm using is in the same directory as
the comfort xAP executable. Renaming this gives a cygwin1.dll not
found error, so I think I can be sure ;-)

I've tried 3 versions of cygwin1 with 'features' as noted below:

1) 446KB Timestamp: 10/03/2000 18:30
2) 948KB Timestamp: 13/09/2003 03:10
3) 615KB Timestamp: 28/11/2004 21:25

Not sure if the timestamps are definitive of course! The '948KB'
version came from the installer package from James' Mi4 site.

I'd welcome any versions you have (even if they look the same - just
in case of peculiar corruption). I'll drop you a note off-line.
