Hi,
Well actually, nearly is the answer. I'm in the final stages of
finishing Ping3 and that does have the ability to send custom xAP
commands if a contact is lost. So you could send an x10 command through
HomeVision to toggle the power of the PC. However this still doesn't
help if the PC running Ping3 fails, but thats easy to fixed by allowing
a timed message to be sent. I'll make sure that feature is added to the
first beta.

For those who have used Ping before the new version features:
Sub addressed xAP messages
Ping checks
TCP checks
HTTP checks
xAP Intranet enabled
Web sites allows grouping of devices and presents them as tabs.
An overview page shows any failed or slow devices, or a happy
face if all is fine.
Can overlay results on to an image so you can using say a arial
view overlay your devices over your site to give a very clear display of
where things are. ( not aw useful for a small house though) ( but it's
still cool ;-)
Can send emails on alerts via xAP or smtp
Sends display messages on alerts
Sends custom xAP messages on alerts, with each device able to
have different messages sequences.
As before can run as an application or an nt service.
