Hey Nigel - was that intended for Chiu directly? ;)

Chiu,

=20

Don't know if you have xAP ( and XPL) 'on your radar' ? But I suspect it
w=
ill go mainstream soon.

I introduced AR to www.o2M8.com at the show.

Thanks Patrick,

=09=20

I'm using James's xAPSwitchboard app for the call logging etc - very good =
bit of software and integrates nicely with Outlook :-)

=09=20

My early thoughts (from many months ago - which I think I posted on here) =
was to have the ability to create IVR menus that would eventually replace
C=
omfort's rather limited system. I'd like to be able to dial in and hear
the=
status of a whole variety of things from alarm status, history. I'd also l=
ike to be able to set the heating setpoints/on/off etc etc - all of which
I=
can currently do locally and from a web browser but not from a telephone. =
Of course, my first and foremost need is to get a decent answering phone
se=
rvice setup (my old answer phone is on it's last legs and has been waiting
=
for *).

=09=20

Would be nice if xAP Switchboard could integrate with your connector and A=
sterisk fully :-) (the first area I can see that would benefit is the
diale=
r in xSB which currently uses Kevin's xAPTel - could this potentially use
A=
sterisk?)

=09=20

Apart from that, there's a whole load of things I want to do that I don't =
know I want to do yet! ;)

=09=20

Thanks,

Paul.=20

Yes, I have a connector which does caller-id and allows calls to be auto-d=
ialled from a specified extension. Used in conjunction with an outlook
macr=
o, you can dial from your outlook contacts direct. Used in conjunction
with=
xap-cache, you can build up a web page of recent calls.

=09=20

I will write it up and bung it on the website.

=09=20

Is there anything else you would specifically like to be able to do? Real-=
time call logging is one obvious item...

I've recently been thinking about installing Asterisk but am unsure as to=
the current xAP support for it. Patrick - you were writing a connector for=
it weren't you? Is it complete?

Thanks,

Paul.
