Thats just what I need Steve,
=20
Just one more point - could you only issue the=20
=20

AT+VCID=3D1 <return>=20
=20
command and then ring in - this should give a nicely formatted CID response
- you might want to send this offlist to me as your phone number will be
visible... I expect it to be the same as the AT+VRID=3D1 responses later
bu=
t
just checking...

Thanks Kevin,
=20
Please find attached HyperTerminal info.
=20
Also was that other modem info of any use?

Steve - I think the commands for your modem are probably (assuming Zoom Doc
100498D.pdf is the right AT command reference). You wont need the +++
escap=
e
sequence if the modem is offline and I think the modem will adjust itself
t=
o
whatever baud rate you use for the Hyperterminal session automatically.
=20
ATZ
=20
=20
AT+VCID=3D1 <return>
=20
or=20
=20
AT+VCID=3D2 <return>
=20
The first one apparently provides for formatted presentation of the CID
dat=
a
and the latter 'raw' - could you try each of these using Hyperterminal and
then ring your number so that the CallerID returned info shows - and then
copy that here (or direct) for me. Then I can support your modem. Also if
you could just try entering the following commands and letting me know what
the modem responds I would appreciate it (after the bits above).
=20
AT+VRID=3D? <return>
AT+VCID=3D? <return>
AT+VRID=3D0 <return>
AT+VRID=3D1 <return>
=20
YAC uses TAPI and I might look to supporting that too but this quick fix
direct control is easier to start with, and get you up and running...

They are usually in the manual or docs under a heading Hayes AT commands or
something... its the bit that enables CallerID reporting that's they key
line, the second line that James provided below. Sometimes to get the modem
to listen firstyou have to type +++ very quickly - just the three
character=
s
- its called an escape sequence.
=20
If you open a HyperTerminal session to your modem and type the commands in
that is best and then ring the modem and the response (with the caller ID
info) will be shown - if you then copy that here that would be fine.
=20
James - what does the incoming caller ID info string look like from the
modem ??

I would also like to supply my init strings for my Hayes Zoom modem. How
d=

I get them?

James if you

to=20

This makes sooo much sense, to have 1 app doing all caller id. The=20
string is:
ATZ
<wait a bit>
AT+VCID=3D1

James
