Oh, that's good to know. It *should* cope fine in that circumstance,
but clearly isn't for some reason. That's something more specific to
look at which is enormously helpful.

That means there is Kevin's disappearing Slims and this startup
sequencing, which I'm convinced I'd already fixed, as problems that
I'm aware of.

It recognises certain types of remotes. You'll have to try the ones in
your house to find out what works. Some of mine do, some don't.

Do you have a TiVo? It recognises that remote control, if you don't
use it (since you have a Pronto).

I guess a diagnostic xAPp that outputs a display message on receiving
IR so you can instantly read about the IR reaction on your Slim as you
press the buttons would be handy in this case.
