Another small buglette I just came across. Try starting up news, and
then when it starts collecting news, hit the close button. It'll
re-appear, report an error, and then it'll close itself down.
I was attempting to get a news.alert message into Viewer and the
quickest way I figured was just to start-up a new instance, and then
close it down again once I had captured what I needed inside Viewer.
