Now James has this on his site

This is exactly how it works. The PC app sends out requests over http
to the siteplayer and it sends them out as serial to the display. Very
simple but has been very reliable too. I suppose it would be just as
easy for the return of data from the http request to contain the state
of the 8 io lines and for the pc app to resend that over xAP. The
siteplayer people have promised for quite a while now an internal
language (basic) for the siteplay which should really help but don't
hold your breath on this as they have been promising it for a long time!
As far as my little lcd project went the siteplayer was just the
standard 1.6 software with the only modification from factory being
changing the ip address ( siteplayer's dhcp is a bit flaky). The pc app
was a xap receiver, a 5 second timer and the inet control to send the
http, thats all. If you are using windows then have a look at the xap
ocx as it will make things easier. Any questions post away!!

James
