I was wondering if I should go for a VB or VB.net book.
I guess the .net stuff is the the newer format if i can handle it, looks
like i
should start at C# then move to VB.net.

Well, from my own POV I can heartily recommend the Microsoft .net
Framework as a target platform. It really does make writing
applications fun and easy as it comes with an extensive, albeit not
necessarily complete, class library.

There's also a xAP application development framework for all .net
languages of course... ;-) So C# or VB.net are equal possibilities.

Which I personally thought was a brilliant introductory book. Bit slow
to start off, but a really good read after that.

Not entirely sure what there is if you prefer the earlier Visual Basic
though. James over at www.Mi4.biz is Mr VB I believe, and Patrick has
a ActiveX control that unleashes xAP too:
