Tech for fake window

Hey peeps! - long time no post!

Anyhoo, I have permission from SWMBO for a small project for next summer;
t=
o install a fake window in our home office which is at the front of the
hou=
se just behind the front wall & adjacent to the front door... We
currently =
have no real window in the front, and we don't want to fit a real one
there=
for a couple of reasons, however, we would like to have the effect of one =
from the inside. Thus my idea is simply to mount a 4K display on the wall
i=
nside the office, make 1 small hole through the front wall & mount a
(hopef=
ully 4K too) camera on the outside in the place that's the exact opposite
o=
f the exact centre of the screen, so that the perspective looks right.

Our house is timber construction with wood barge boards outside, so the
log=
istics of installation are pretty straightforward.

What I'm looking to you guys for is some equipment recommendations...

I know I can pick up a 4K display for not very much money (UKHA prices!) -
=
e.g. ebuyer currently have a 28" 4K monitor for =A3200. I don't mind
spendi=
ng a bit more, as I'd like to get a really slim one - as slim as
possible..=
.. - it will be surface mounted, but I'd like to make a fake window frame
ar=
ound it to make it look as much like a real window as possible from the
ins=
ide, so I would welcome any recommendations as to real slim 4K displays I
c=
ould look for. It doesn't have to be a "monitor" in the
"computer monitor" =
sense.. - it could be a "TV" - although the distinction is pretty
vague the=
se days...

The camera I'm a bit less sure about, - the PC monitors I'm looking at,
mos=
tly have a combination of HDMI/Displayport interfaces, I'm not currently
aw=
are of a 4K camera I could literally just connect directly through the
wall=
and straight into the monitor... Anyone got any thoughts as to suitable ca=
mera(s), or perhaps a combo of camera & monitor which have the right
combin=
ation of interface and software to work together? I guess a "TV"
might have=
a wider variety of interface options, but for 4K I'm limited anyway to the=
options that would support that...

TIA

Paul G
