Yes it is encrypted. I went down that route a few years ago. So unless it=
=92s been cracked...

Thanks all for the various replies/suggestions=85

In parallel to asking this question, I also did a little bit of googling
on=
this standard, - since I=92d never heard of it before=85

It seems that the communication is probably encrypted, since much of the
PR=
for IO-Homecontrol talks about it being =91highly secure=92 =96 so I presu=
me a 3rd-party RF solution won=92t work =96 unless someone=92s
reverse-engi=
neered the protocol & broken the encryption..

I=92m guessing therefore that the only likely solution will be some form
of=
certified gateway device produced by one of the signatories to the standar=
d=85. I assume there must be such a thing, since the same PR material also
=
talks about using an app to control all compatible devices=85.

Since it=92s only an awning, there=92s really only 3 commands possible:
ope=
n, close, stop =96 indeed there are only 3 buttons on the remote=85 the
sto=
p command is achieved by pulsing the button for the opposite movement =96
i=
..e. if it=92s in the process of opening, then the stop signal is sent by
pu=
lsing the close button & vice-versa, so in truth I only need 2 command
line=
s, - ideally by dry contact closure which I can attach to comfort outputs=
=85

And it does seem like a number of such gateway devices are, or may be
avail=
able=85 - I=92m still reading through my google search results, so I=92ve
a=
lot more to learn about this yet=85

Cheers

P.

Hi Paul,

OpenMQTTGateway has an RF interface and normally for use with 433 and
315Mh=
z remotes but no reason it should not work with 868Mhz if you can get a
sui=
table receiver (ideally a transceiver so you can send too) and hook this
up=
to an Arduino or ESP8266 (which is what I use so it can send the MQTT to N=
ode-red). You can then capture the RF and split it back out with the
868Mhz=
transmitter.

https://github.com/1technophile/OpenMQTTGateway<https://nam03.safelinks.pro=
tection.outlook.com/?url=3Dhttps%3A%2F%2Fgithub.com%2F1technophile%2FOpenMQ=

qkMhiqwlKT0k5mWe02AmOz096FN0%3D&reserved=3D0>

You=92ll need to do a little work and need an MQTT server to use it or you
=
could hack the code.
