We got a Candy heat pump one from ao.com about 4 months ago, this has a
drain tube (although I've not got round to running a pipe even though
the old vent is just above the drain) so no need to empty it. It also
has smartphone control via NFC if you need a geek factor (neither my
phone nor my wife's have NFC, but my son connected OK with his). We
needed a big one, so this was 9Kg, but works well and is fairly quiet
and I think they come in smaller drum sizes. A++ rated and really simple
to use, we bung everything in on the same mixed setting and it's done in
about the same time as the next washing load.
