Hi Andy,
We went the dedicated route having missed countless junctions / lane
changes with both the Apple Map or Google Maps IOS App's
So bought a TomTom 6100 from the Amazon Warehouse in the summer it's top
drawer with a massive screen to boot ! *Tom*
The only issue being the updating process which is rather clunky...
However it's got lifetime maps and lifetime traffic updates all done via
it's own builtin GSM connection so no dependencies on phone battery /
charging etc..
