If you=E2=80=99re after a Media Bridge / Gaming Adapter to connect your
Sky=
Box to your WiFi network then Sky *CAN* provide one alternatively I=E2=80=
=99m using one of these - http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/networks/wireless-=
routers/1403485/asus-ea-ac87-wireless-ac-1800-media-bridge-review - to
conn=
ect my network in the annex where I live to the main houses WiFi (only a
sh=
ort hop) and that seems quite stable.

=20

I do have one of these - http://www.linksys.com/gb/p/P-WUMC710/
- sat doing=
nothing but I did find that I had some issues with it locking up every 24 =
hours or so and it seems that if you google then this seems to be
something=
that others have experienced with it=E2=80=A6

*nods knowingly*

Can you get the Sky box upgraded, or, add a wifi-ethernet dongle to it?
Tha=
t would at least help remove the need for PLE....=20

The moment when a piece of new tech arrives, you install it with high
hopes=
of how awesome it's going to be .....then to find that it doesn't seem to =
be any better than the old tech :(

=20

So either the Ubiquiti isn't any stronger than my =C2=A340 TP Link WD8970,
=
or the bits the TP Link can't reach are just as hard for the Ubiquiti as
we=
ll.

=20

What also hasn't helped is the realisation that the Sky Box doesn't even
ha=
ve wifi built in (FFS!) so my plan to remove the power line ethernet units
=
is a bit scuppered as well.

=20

Damn this rented house and the inability to run cat 5!!

=20

Some more investigation/dabbling with the config required although for
that=
i'll need to turn the power line units off as it seems with them on the co=
ntroller software can't see the AP!!=20=20

=20

Will let you know how I get on.

Cheers
