Hi Guys,

=20

I=92m running three main NASs at home =96 one is an 8 bay Synology (8 x 6TB
RAID5=92d), one is a 4 bay QNAP (4 x 6TB RAID5=92d) and the last is a 4 bay
NetGear (4 x 4TB RAID5=92d) =96 that I want to UPS protect due to the
amoun=
t of
time that it takes for the buggers to resync after a power outage (which we
seem to get occasionally). The QNAP takes about three days! :)

=20

The easiest way (of course) would be to use an APC 700VA UPS each (=A355
fr=
om
just about everywhere) and just hook one up to each NAS via USB and let
the=
m
each sort themselves out but I would like not to have to house three UPSs
i=
f
it can be avoided =85

=20

If they were all Synology NASs then I think it=92s built into the Synology
=
OS
that you can use one Synology to signal other Synologys to shut down but I
don=92t think the QNAP and NetGear support that so does anyone know of any
=
way
to have one (larger) UPS signaling the shutting down of multiple NASs from
disparate manufacturers? I do have a small Windows 10 =91management=92 PC
t=
hat
is also permanently on the network that could be used to run any software
i=
f
necessary=85

=20

Any thoughts or suggestions?

=20

Cheers

=20

Phil
