RE: Audio round the house options?

I happen to have recently resurrected one of my older ZP80 (unamplified)
So=
nos zoneplayers and have coupled it with this el-cheapo mini amplifier:
htt=
p://www.amazon.co.uk/LP-2020A-Tripath-Class-T-Amplifier-Supply/dp/B00C2P61F=
O/ref=3Dsr_1_1?ie=3DUTF8&qid=3D1435653885&sr=3D8-1&keywords=3Dlepai+lp-2020=
which I picked up for not a lot over =A320, and have coupled it with a dua=
l-channel stereo ceiling speaker (i.e. both stereo channels in a single
spe=
aker, so as not to pepper the ceiling with too many holes).
=20
I have to say, the result is pleasingly acceptable... I'm not as young as
I=
used to be, so I no longer have golden ears, but I do still have a fairly =
high expectation for audio quality, and I can't tolerate the obvious
weakne=
sses that some others seem to be able to put up with (certainly in my
famil=
y anyway).
=20
This is installed in a fairly small bathroom - 4m2 - so has no problems
fil=
ling the space with sound, and the lack of positional separation of the
ste=
reo channels isn't a problem - quite the contrary in fact, as one of my
con=
cerns with fitting a stereo pair was that the listening positions -
reclini=
ng in the bath, or stood at the basin, would always be massively closer to
=
one or other of the pair and would thus give very unbalanced listening.
Thi=
s may not provide a good "spatial" separation experience, but at
least all =
of the sound is equally audible anywhere in the room.
=20
I installed an original CR100 controller in a wall cradle by the basin,
and=
am also looking to place a "spare" older iPad into a wall mount
over the b=
ath... - still looking for a suitable mounting mechanism for an original
i=
Pad mark 1 if anyone has any suggestions... a bit of DIY not out of the
que=
stion for that... there is no power available there, so it must be easily
r=
emovable for recharging once a week or so....=20
=20
You just can't beat decent music while relaxing in the bath with a large
gl=
ass of something red... :-)
