RE: KVM Switch wanted

I have a three monitor setup fed by two PC=92s. I also have the DVI
version=
(x2) of that KVM cable and it works really well =96 particularly the remot=
e switch that sits on my desktop. I also extend the cables and have Gefen
D=
VI detectives in-line to deal with the EIDE issues of Windows not
detecting=
the displays when switched to the other PC. I don=92t think you have that =
issue though with VGA.

I think extending the cables might be your best option. I have looked for
o=
ther KVM switches/matrix but always wanted the small remote switches on my
=
desktop and not found anything else like that out there. Most KVM=92s have
=
either front panel switches or IR/RS232 control etc which didn=92t work
for=
me as I want to keep the desktop clutter free.

The other advantage to the ATEN in-line KVM is that they were fairly cheap
=
in comparison to other solutions.

My issue is that I now need 4K switching at 60Hz after upgrading my
monitor=
s =96 nothing I=92ve found does that yet =96 30Hz yes but not 60Hz.

Paul.

Subject: [ukha_d] KVM Switch wanted

I'm having real trouble finding a 2-port USB KVM switch.

I'd like this one, but with longer cables. 1.8m would be ideal.
2U.html>

Must be usb and VGA, do full HD resolution, have cables of 1.5-1.8m, be a
c=
ompact form factor and have a real switch (not hotkey) to change between
co=
mputers.

Does such a thing exist? Googling/alphabetting has drawn a blank.

I suppose I could use extension cables on the one above, but that's a bit
c=
arp :-(

Any feedback welcome.

Cheers,
Tim.
