I just use MakeMKV for both DVDs and BluRays, store them on NAS drives,
and=
use Kodi on a variety of devices as my media player. I don=E2=80=99t want =
or need to watch these movies from IOS devices (although I do have the
abil=
ity to stream content to them via DLNA should I want to), but Handbrake
wou=
ld be the way to deal with this as the previous post describes.

I would suggest either Handbrake - although you need VLC installed for it
t=
o use its libraries and or MakeMKV

=20

My main ripping is done from BlueRay to which I whack it through MakeMKV
to=
get it off to a =E2=80=98backup=E2=80=99 then recode using Handbrake to ge=
t it to MP4 format to then make it iTunes ready.

=20

Following that I stick it through iDentify to tag it, add artwork and fill
=
in the blanks from IMDB and actually adds it to the iTunes library.
I=E2=80=
=99ve just checked on iDentify and that only appears to be Mac version.
The=
other two are both iirc.

=20

=20

Hope that helps!

Wayne.

It's been ages since I've had the need to rip DVD's, but I now have a
stack=
that need adding to the media server.

=20

It seems DVD shrink no longer works with modern DVD's (just gets to around
=
10% and CRC errors) so what is the current perceived wisdom on this? I'd
g=
enerally rip to ISO, the pass through handbreak for use on iPad.

=20

Googling brings up lots of options for malware infected sites (as to be
exp=
ected I guess).
