RE: [OT] Battery Life / Clock
Could it be something really daft like the battery compartment is made
of s=
omething that is conducting the two test points on the battery and so
it=E2=
=80=99s not delivering the correct voltage? I=E2=80=99m not sure how those
=
integrated testers work but I guess they must put some form of load onto
th=
e battery in order to work? Try making sure the battery is inserted so you
=
can see the integrated tester to verify that its not activated.=0D

No HA related, but I know there's a wealth of technical knowledge here!=0D

My parents have a simple silver anniversary clock (the type with a glass
do=
me over it and it has the rotating balls at the bottom - this sort of
thing=
[Image result for silver anniversary clock] )=0D

This has been fine for best part of 25 years, however, Dad changed the
batt=
ery (as he's done every few years with no problem), it was a brand new
Dura=
cell which has the new integral tester which tests OK and the clock
doesn't=
run. He took a used battery out of the remote control and the clock works.=

Any reason why the clock doesn't work with new batteries, but will work
wit=
h used batteries?=0D
