Re: Routing TV cables in the chimney

How could/would you make good the core drilled holes in order to enable
the=
chimney to be used again in the future?
It sounds to me as though your actions would write the chimney off for its
=
"proper" use?=20
If you're happy to that then OK.
It might be worth having a word with your local Building Control Inspector
=
to ask their advice.

Tracey

Hi everyone=20

I would like to mount the TV on the chimney breast in the lounge. First=
challenge is routing power & AV cables so everything is hidden!

The chimney is no longer used with an electric decorative fire installe=

house=
has plentiful central heating and it's a modern build house so doesn't dem=
and the real fire effect.

My proposal is to route power and AV cables from the loft to the lounge=
via the chimney. I thought a core drill would be suitable to create the op=
enings at each end to a similar size as a tumble drier vent.

Has anyone done this before or can you talk me out of it as a very bad =
idea before I do something I may regret?

Many thanks

Tom
