Thanks Marcus
Problem is Inverter is on garage wall 20m away=20
with ali foil covered insulation between.
I have been running with a couple of amplified=20
usb cables end to end, but that is a bit flakey.
Good idea about usb extenders on cat5. Will try that.

We have the same inverter and had the BT power increased. It=92s set via
the Sunny Explorer software but unfortunately it=92s not one of the
settings available to the =93user=94 login and you need to log in with the
installer/admin pin to be able to change it.

I=92m not sure how you can gain admin access without the installer telling
you the pin he setup. Even if you found another friendly installer he
would need to know the PIN that your original installer setup. You could
try ringing SMA support , maybe they have a super user pin or something
?

Why do you want to increase it ? If it=92s simply to log data onto a PC
then you could always move the actual BT dongle closer to the inverter
using some USB extenders over Cat5. Alternatively (like me) you setup a
Raspberry Pi with a BT dongle close to the inverter and then have it do
the capture (via PVCCUpload) and upload the data the PVOutput website for
graphing. Here=92s a link to our PVOutput solar generation ;
