Funny you should ask, I was looking at this earlier this morning and the
browser window was still open!

http://www.remote-control-desktop.com/
seems to fit the bill. It appears
to be VNC with a intermediate wrapper to sort the firewall / port
mapping issues so is platform independent.

I've not tried it yet myself, but looks quite promising.
