I always prefer to use separate Access Points rather than the router=B9s
ow=
n
WiFi capabilities. Of all of the Access Points I=B9ve used, by far the best
has been an Apple Airport Extreme. It=B9s actually a router, but works just
fine as a WAP.
If you=B9ve got any Macs, you get some extra benefits including turning it
into a Time Capsule with the addition of a USB HDD. But don=B9t let the
fac=
t
that it=B9s an Apple device put you off; mine's been supporting a plethora

of
PC=B9s, Mac, mobile and embedded devices for about 3 years, now.
Cheers,
Steve

Subject: [ukha_d] Wireless Access Points?

=20
I currently use an Ethernet connection to connect my pc to my router.
However I have been informed by "her indoors" that we are to
expect a
prolonged visit from her daughter and grandkids, this coming summer.
Her daughter is hoping to do some work when she is down here and she
currently uses wifi at home.
=20
I currently don't have wifi set up on my router, but I don't see a major
problem in getting that going,
The problem that I envisage is going to be getting the wifi coverage to
extend across the house.
=20
The router is located at one end of the L-shaped house and I am considering
adding two wireless access points? to split the house into three areas, one
at the corner of the "L" and the second at the other end of the
"L"
=20
As I said I have no experience of wifi, having never bothered to use it and
I would welcome any advice on the make/model of equipment to use.
The house is flooded with CAT5, so I should have no problem feeding the new
access points.

Many thanks
