Asterix at home

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has experience with using asterix at home to
expose a single regular phone line to a set of internal ip phones? My
requirements are very simple but I was hoping for internal communication
from phone to phone with a simple voicemail system. A pi based approach
would be nice to cut the power costs but its not clear to me which hardware
would be needed to connect to the pstn line.

Secondarily does anyone have any recommendations for cisco ip phones? I'm
quite keen on exposing some of my home automation controls via the phones
too.

Thoughts or advice to a newbie would be appreciated.

thanks
kieran
