OK, just an update for the benefit of those on the UKHA & Selfbuild
lists -
apologies if this is of no interest...

We have 20 names and have ordered 2 lots of crimp tools. These have been
dispatched and are winging their way to us now, according to the parcel
tracking number.

I've had 3 further requests and what I propose is to wait until the current
order arrives and make sure all is well, etc. and then, if there's
sufficient interest, I might be persuaded to do another one.

So for now, if you are interested, send me a mail off list, I'll keep a

A couple of people have used this type of tool before and can vouch for its
quality, ease of use & comfort. RS currently have the same AMP tool
selling
for =A3137+vat EACH (http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/cable-crimpers/2503539/)
and they're streets ahead of the cheaper lever-action tools.

The general idea is that I will order the bulk pack with the items

to me. I will split and send out to each participant. The purchase cost is
shared between the participants then postage added on top. You're welcome

collect in person to save on postage costs if you wish - I live near
Hindhead on the Surrey/Hampshire border (postcode GU35 will get you close).
I've guessed the UK postage cost to be around =A34, so the final item price
(ex any further import duty, etc.) will be =A315-16.

Just for the avoidance of doubt, I will operate it on an "at
cost" / "not
for profit" basis and it would be run personally by me, not through a
company so no VAT.

The ebay seller offers free shipping however there's always the risk of
getting hit with import duty. If we are charged it we'll each be liable for
1/10th of the total in addition to the =A315-16 estimated above.
