<p>I hedged by building a machine based on the i5-3570K with 8G of
RAM (+ 2 spare RAM slots) and SSD about 6 months ago, just at the end of
mainstream Ivy bridge cycle - got a good deal on the CPU - and when the
figures came out showing marginal performance gain on the next gen, it
seemed reasonable. So I'll run XP into the ground over
the next year or so while I decide what to do. That might involve
virtualising my XP museum "just in case" and running
Linux as native OS.<br></p><p style="color:rgb(0, 0,
