Just about to build a new Media Server ... have found a nice 24 bay
(on 6 x
4 drive SFF-8087 SATA/SAS backplanes) 19" 4U case, got my motherboard
sorted, drive controller and SAS expander etc. All I need to do now is
mount
the Boot / OS drive nicely. The case obviously has plenty of drive bays but
I want to use all those for data drives and boot from a separate 2.5"
SSD
drive.
When I had my first PC it had a hard disc mounted on an expansion card (OK
so the expansion card was also the HD controller but obviously I have
plenty
of controllers now) - does anyone know if there are still such mounts
available? There's the "Scythe Slot Rafter" which is basically
what I'm
after but that doesn't seem to be available anywhere... L
Any suggestions?
