RE: Solar PV Monitoring

Marc,

Looking at the spec for your inverter shows that it has both RS232 and
RS485
interfaces but unfortunately no Ethernet interface. It also states
"mit
Datenlogger".

Subject: [ukha_d] Solar PV Monitoring

Hi Guys,

I wonder if anyone has any advise with regard to Solar PV monitoring.

We have just had installed a 4KW 16 Panel system. The HA nerd inside my
really really wants to get some kind of monitoring going. At the moment I
have to go into the loft and take a look at the inverter.

The inverter is a Diehl Ako Platinum 3800. I couldn't see any kind of
serial
port, but it was so hot in the attic I didn't stay long :D

It also has a meter to the side of it that has a flashing LED (I seem to
remember something about using that for HA but can't remember)

So, there *must* be a HA way of monitoring this. I current have a Homeseer
system and would love to see graphics in that, but would love to just get a
way to see whats being generated without going into the loft :D

Any help appreciated.

Marc
