RE: CCTV DVR choices
Hold fire on that.... - it seems as though Henrys have put the WRONG
detail=
s
up on their webpage (not a great sign!)
When I started researching the 796B a little more, I very quickly noticed
that all other sources of information stated the same (lower) recording
rat=
e
as the 677...
When I emailed Henrys to query this, their guy confirmed that the specs for
the two units is the same, - so really there is no good reason to pay the
extra cash.... - the other differentiating features (video loop through on
each input, 2 x audio outs) really aren't important enough to warrant it...
Bummer...
In my trawling I have come across one which claims to do full rate
recordin=
g
across all 8 inputs simultaneously, but it *was* a =A3500+ unit, so as
ever=
,
one gets what one pays for...

Hi Paul,
Good spot!
I think what initially put me off was the optical drive - unnecessary for
me.
But it does have some other interesting features like loop-through of the
video streams and two separate monitor outputs, etc.
The increased frame rate is probably the most important thing though.
Otherwise they're pretty similar.
Maybe 500GB would be ok...
Haven't looked for any manuals yet, but will post back if I find any.
Cheers,
Tim.
