Hi-

If you don't mind trawling through source code, there's a number of
abstractions in the "Bearskin" protocols within Minerva that
might
provide some inspiration.

The purpose of bearskin is more that it creates a layer above the
_software_ which controls the protocols, rather than the protocol
itself. But looking at your wiki, I can see they have very similar
aims.
