low energy floodlights

Hi all,
I'm perhaps slightly off topic here, but the recent discussion about LED
lights has left me wondering about low energy flood lights - ie. to
replace a 500W halogen 'security light' type unit (though I'm not
bothered about a PIR, and I don't really need 500W either).
There seem to be quite a range, CPC have some LED ones at about 6 quid,
I've seen various CFL ones around the 20-50 quid mark, and I've seen
various other ones right up to £150 or more.
Does anyone have any experience of these and can recommend a good one to
go for?
