RE: Anybody use Pure-FTP

Generally, ftp is restricted by file system permissions, there are
various
auth options, so you'd need to check the conf file to see which is enabled
so you can add the user in the right place. If you are using the system
users, check that the minUID setting is not preventing your new user
account
from connecting.

Subject: [ukha_d] Anybody use Pure-FTP

BT Openreach have (finally) finished wiring my local cab for FTTC and I now
have a decent service ordered (only 8 more sleeps to go!!!) I now want to
push on with my mutual offsite backup plans - I have a drobo with pure-ftp
on it (which is great, I can access my drobo via Android from anywhere). I
now only need to add a new user and limit that user's access to a single
share. Looks like it's trivial to do but I can't seem to "get
in" to
pure-ftp to do anything - am I missing something?

I can ssh into the drobo and see all the pure-ftp files etc. but can't
execute the commands.

TIA

Tim.
