RE: Re: x10

I had a similar problem. Opened up the unit. It contains 2 coils, one
on one
off. When the relay inside is pulse it mechanical latches. I found the
small
pivot lever, which moves in response to the coils had broken. Whilst the
unit coils still operate the contacts do not change position.

I've been using AD10's for some years but have had loads of reliability
problems. Switches start off working but later go bad and get stuck ON. An
X10 OFF signal causes the bad AD10 to emit a weak click sound, rather than
the strong click of a working switch, and the LED and output stay ON.

My switches are only controlling the power feeds to heat and hot water
controllers so the loads should be very light and nothing that should
cause contacts to become welded, but that might be what is happening.

Has anyone else had any problems like this?
