I'll head out tomorrow and see if I can pick up 2 kits. I can get the
TP-LINK TL-PA211 here.



This will then allow me to add Ethernet into the bedroom. Been itching to
put music and an HA interface in there so this might be the ideal way to
get
it done. WiFi of course is the other option but as I live in an apartment
with concrete walls with rebar, the signal is pretty week in the kitchen
and
the bedroom. In fact, the front room is one wall from the room where the
WiFi router is located and it is just 1 or 2 bars on my phone and tablet in
there.

I'm using a pair of those home plugs taking network from downstairs where
my
HTPC and modem are, to my PC, server and wireless AP upstair. I've not had
any issues at all. There is a button on the bottom of each to pair them.
Plug them in, press the buttons and plug in the Ethernet cables. Haven't
had
a problem since.

The layout of the network means that all Internet access to my PC, server
and wireless devices must go through the home plugs. On top of that, all
media streamed from the server to the HTPC goes through the home plugs.

One is upstairs at the back of the house, the other is downstairs at the
front, so they couldn't be further apart.

I've can stream 1080p video down to the HTPC and haven't noticed a single
problem.
