Agreed - it looks very pretty.

I think the idea is good, and that for many homes there are significant
fuel savings to be made from more advanced controls, however I don't think
a single room thermostat is the answer, no matter how intelligent. Of
course they probably have plans to link them but then I wonder how
expensive it might be.

To do this properly you really need heat output management (e.g. remotely
controlled valves on rads or separate piping), distributed temperature
sensors and some sort of central controller well integrated with the heat
source(s). In other words, a central heating system with quite a few
independent zones. The Honeywell CM products are possibly the closest to
this at the moment I think, though even with that system it is relatively
expensive to add zones.
