Re: DVD Ripping - suggestions

Hi Tim,

My workflow for this goes something along the lines of ...

MakeMKV (if it starts on a blu-ray) (http://www.makemkv.com/) --> .MKV

Either DVD or .MKV -> Handbrake (http://handbrake.fr/) --> .MP4

.MP4 --> MetaX (to add Meta Data)

.MP4 --> iTunes to play

oh - and if you need a Blu-Ray player - these work well! - Plextor
External Top Loader - (http://bit.ly/rxDxjo) (shameless plug!)

Admittedly - there is an Mac bias as the end goal will be an apple tv2 but
VLC will play back MP4's without a problem as well. (in fact - you actually
need VLC installed for Handbrake to use its libraries!)

Hope this helps!

Wayne.

what I can see a 1-1.5GB rip retains enough of the original quality to be
OK to watch and is more useful for watching on other devices. Is there a
"best in class" ripper.
