Sorry - wasn't reading carefully enough: "your lighting system
can be operated by your smartphone or Z-Wave remote control, by simply
installing this device. With easy installation, you
can keep your faceplates and use the switches manually as before, but
with the added bonus of remote control."

So yes, the I, O, S1 & S2 terminals must be connected to both the
switch and the lamp somehow. Did anyone find the installation instructions
- I couldn't see any the other day.
