RE: Laika Revealed - Plex Gets Official Windows Client, Cloud Sharing, Plus New OSX & Mobile Clients

Hi Adrian,

I've been playing about with various media centre products for more years
n=
ow than I care to mention - many of which have bit the dust and stopped
bei=
ng worked on years ago (even though I bought licences for them) and many
mo=
re I've forgotten the names of. I had an original xBox that I bought to
use=
XBMC on when that first hit the light of day.

Mark's favourite - Plex - was a great example ... when it came out it
looke=
d lovely with it's nice backgrounds and smoothly scrolling menus (hell, I
b=
ought a Mac Mini to try it on) but it was an absolute dog to use - I
couldn=
't work out which way you had to go to get to menu options (or more
importa=
ntly to get out of menu options) and it was just unusable IMO. Now I know
M=
ark has stuck with Plex, loves it and thinks it's the greatest thing since
=
sliced bread but I don't have four years to wait for a bit of software to
m=
ature into something that's usable.

Decent PVR integration would be cool but at the end of the day you're not
g=
oing to get support for Virgin cable or Sky on there so it's already a
poor=
substitute IMO.

Basically I just want something that works and I don't want to have to put
=
my TV on to play a piece of music or listen to some internet radio ...
mind=
you - no matter what you do people are never happy.=20

Phil
