Re: Water softeners

I have used this softener twice (moved house) and its been fine.
http://www.freshwatersystems.co.uk/logixlinfo.htm

It does need an electricity supply, but comparing with people I know who
have kinetic softeners that do not use electricity, I find my overall salt
cost is a lot less. I am able to buy 75kg of salt locally for 22 gbp, and
it
lasts me for over 6 months, on a 4 bed house. The kinetic block salt is
much
more expensive I found.

There are two types of head unit, one that measures your usage and one that
just operates on a time basis, i.e. it would regenerate every 3 days.
Both times I've got the usage based model, slightly more expensive, but
then
it only makes the softener regenerate when it needs to.

Whatever softener you get, just watch your input water pressure. Upper
limit
for most softeners is about 5psi, if your water pressure is higher than
this
then most likely you will need a pressure regulating valve.
