RE: Water softeners

Neil,

We=92ve had a Kinetico 2020c for the last 2 years and can recommend it. It
works well and does what it should (we=92re on Thames Water and have pretty
hard water), and I like the way it uses no power as it has twin chambers.
We installed a new shower at the same time and it is still fairly spotless,
so much so that I had dismantle the other shower and give it an acid bath
t=
o
clean it up to get it to the same standard!

One thing we find is that their service calls are expensive =96 we had to
h=
ave
it checked over because we were getting trapped air in the water system
(they still don=92t know why) and it cost about =A360 for the guy to come
a=
nd
give it a once over, although it did fix the problem. Another thing to
not=
e
is that you can get ex rental ones at a fraction of the cost, if your local
installer does rentals. Ours was about 60% of list price.
