Meteor Caller ID, or something new?

Around Dec 18 my meteor unit stopped receiving caller ID info.  It's
strange as the serial port quite happily still displays other events
(rings, dialled numbers), and my DECT phones get Caller ID info (I
even got Virgin Media to reset it just in case).  If other folks here
with them are not having troubles I guess my unit is broken.  Are
there any other alternative units worth considering?
