RE: Smart meters

Hi Brian,

You can read the flashing LED and convert this into a reading of power
used.

I built something like this for my apartment as I thought I was paying over
the odds on the price of the electricity. Using the flashing LED I was able
to determine the power usage throughout the day and do a running total of
the cost. Being in Rupiah you see it increment every pulse :o)

Here is what I built. Bit of an overkill but I had the box already sitting
around and just needed to write the code for it. It is Rabbit RCM3000 based
and has been working for about 10 months now without a hitch.

If you are a dab hand at any programming you could build something like
this
around the .NET Microframework modules that are out there and have a nice
touch screen interface and network connection etc.

Good luck.

Dave.

Hi Michael

There's an LED on the lecky meter but not the gas. Looks like I might have
been hoping for something that isn't available.

Cheers

Brian
