Hi

My install was some time ago but they were very helpful on the day

1) They installed the 'brown' splitter box in an unobtrusive location at
gr=
ound level at the side of the house

2) Took a coax feed for the stb through into the front room using a route
a=
nd locatiuon I had selected

3) took a coax up the wall into the loft obscured behind a drain pipe for
t=
he (then) modem (now a 'super hub')

4) ditto for a telephone cable to the master socket in the loft.

I would say that if they are given no direction then they will always go
fo=
r the easiest routes and installation, and this may not be the most
unobtru=
sive.

In general, if cables are going from the brown box around the house, get
th=
em to follow the damp course line as this is already black and for
vertical=
follow the pipes up and to 1st floor etc.

It is worth you spending some time thinking about how *you* want it done
an=
d where *you* want things. Be there on the day and don't rely on others
who=
might be persauded that there were 'better'(easier) ways.
