Re: Going completely wireless?

Hi Steev,

Since I'm in a rented house atm, I tried the all-wireless route and it
failed miserably.

The main problem was insufficient bandwidth for HD movies, but even DVDs
were unreliable. 5GHz wifi couldn't make it through even a couple of stud
walls.

I also tried a variety of powerline ethernet devices - none managed even as
high as 20Mbps.

I've switched to sneaker net with a 500Gb laptop drive for the time being -
when we buy our next place there will be wires going in all over the place
:-)
