RE: [OT] Question for iPhone/iPad users
Outlook will replace an email address with a name i.e. "Keith
Doxey" if it knows that the email address is yours - i.e. if there is
an entry in one of the contacts lists with your email and name - do you
have any of those?
Only sure fire way I know of to work out what address the email is actually
going to/from is to look at the source message headers - which you can do
in outlook although I forget where you view that off the top of my head.
The "sent from my ipad" etc - are default signatures on the
iPhone/iPad - you can turn these off or modify them on the device.
Cheers,
Paul.

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] Question for iPhone/iPad users
Hi All,
Quick question for all you iPhone/iPad users.
Yesterday I posted a couple of ads on my local Freegle group. The email I
have Freegle set up for is my ukha@ email address that I use for Yahoo
groups however in the replied I got I noticed something strange
The "TO" field in outlook for a couple of messages says
ukha@xxxxxxxxx
For several other messages it says "Keith Doxey" but then you
double click it, it reveals ukha@xxxxxxxxxx
For all the above messages the quoted text also shows my ukha@ email
address but this is the bit I don't understand.....
I received two messages that went straight into my personal folder and they
were sent to keith@xxxxxxxxxx But I cant understand HOW they got my proper
email address. There was something else I noticed in those two emails, one
said "sent from my iPad" the other "sent from my
iPhone"
Anyone got an explanation for how this occurred ?
Thanks
Keith
