One other thing I should mention is it's not overly easy to create
a
scene on/off button on a C-Bus switch (unless you have some back end
smarts). Basically a scene button sets the scene but another press
doesn't remove it or turn all the members off - it just sets it again.
This can increase the number of keys you need on one switch.
The button indicator on a scene switch is very intelligent - it
constantly monitors every light (group) that is a member of that scene
and if any of them change state or levels the indicator will go out -
because the scene is now deemed 'broken'. If you are prepared to
sacrifice this scene indicator behaviour (the indicator remaining lit)
you can implement on/off scenes with one button and a little workaround.
If you have a Wiser, PAC, HomeGate or C-Bus touchscreen with inbuilt
logic engine then you can always retain the full scene indicator
functionality.
