RE: Distribute Sky

So wired you have Mal=92s option which sends the second room on UHF
from th=
e
digibox to the Second TV. You don=92t need a UHF IN to the digibox for this
(but the second TV would have sky and sky alone in that case). In this case
the 2nd TV sees exactly what the 1st is watching.

=20

If you already have 2 cables from the Dish to digibox (which is the norm
fo=
r
Sky+?) you can take a 3rd (or 4th) cable to another room but you need a
digibox there aswell and the sky multiroom sumsbscription. The 2nd TV is
then fully independant of the 1st.

=20

Or you could go from the scart on the back of the digibox to a wireless
sender to a wireless receiver and scart in on the 2nd TV. As per the first
option the second becomes a mirror of the 1st.

Something like... http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=3D44469

Quality and range varies...if you have a solid house you might struggle
between floors etc.

Thank you for that but it does not seem to work.

Would I be right in assuming that you need an RF in first as opposed to the
Sky dish signal?

The dish on the wall has 2 cables running from it into the digibox, he
bought something from Curry=92s for =A320 but as far as I can see this will
transmit the signal via cable which means drilling holes in a rented house
which probably will not be a problem.

I just wondered what was the best way of avoiding this, and wanted to make
sure it worked before any drilling.

On an old house of mine there was a splitter near to the dish but I do not
know if you can do this now?

Thank you anyway,

Brian.

There is an RF output on the back of the sky box which you can use.=20

There are also IR receivers that go between the aerial lead and socket on
the second TV that can send commands from the Sky remote back to the box.
Stick =93sky magic eye=94 in Google for a selection (should be <
=A36).=20

For the Magic eye to work, it needs a DC power supply which the Sky box
sends down the aerial lead. You have to go into the engineers menu on the
Sky box to turn this on (which menu depends on your box, but it=92s easy to
find instructions online). One thing to note is that wall plates with
FM/TV sockets will block the DC power supply,so you=92ll need sockets with
=
a
simple TV only output and no other gubbins inside.
