RE: Re:Solar PV
Sounds interesting! Looking forward to reading all about it. Do the
panels
have to be facing any particular direction or will they generate with just
daylight? I have a flat roof on an extension, but it is on the east side of
the house.

Hi Peter + Jane
All's going fine and I'm still earning....(approx =A375 this month - bit
lo=
w,
but we've had several very cloudy/overcast days)
You asked:
Make of panels? 235w is again best I have heard of. 180w seems standard.
They are SHARP NU-E235E1 ..... 235W at 14.3% efficiency... through a
Froniu=
s
IG60
Size of panels?
Each 1.65m x 1m - I've got 16 (2banks x 8panels)
Any guarantee?
5yr Product guarantee (10yr performance to 90% and 25yr to 80%)
10yr Warranty on Fronius
10yr Supplier Warranty
Who was the installer?
I found a company based in Eire who were keen to have a UK presence.
They've been in the PV business for >5 years in the EU and recently
started
a UK office. I can get their rep to call you/email you if you want?
You say "not susceptible to the vagaries of power companies and
governments"...how sure are you of that (any written contract or
promise)?
I have the satisfaction that I'm now immune to energy price increases and
Gov't Green Taxes. Plus, the MCS (Government Managed database) is a
'Contract'(verified by my local CAB) and the power company (nPower) have
written to me activating my FiT Plan account showing an end date of July
2035 - so as long as I keep generating, they'll keep paying....
Also you say "index linked". Is that in writing?
Its a statement I've seen on several PV websites - can't remember where but
I'm sure you'll come across it in you investigations....
That's all for the moment. I'm going to get a web page put together soon
with some photos and real-time generation figures (from the OWL, which I
rigged up to the output from the Fronius to give me remote-realtime
reading=
s
on my laptop - cool, or what!!)
