In name only! :-) Its a separate tool used outside of the core Plex
tool....

I never got the "hard to set up" bit - actually quite
straightforward IMHO. I know it was a common complaint though. I'm not
convinced its actually any easier now - its just that the interface is
different.... The problem was (and I can't see it being any different in
P9) the accuracy of data on the web. Strange though that XBMC seems IME to
scrape more accurately...

I look forward to the review, but should fess up that I am an ex-user of
Plex, having gone back to XBMC which IMHO is more reliable, performs better
(video playback), and runs on a platform I understand!
I very much like the idea of the common library in P9 - that sounds very
cool. But its achievable in XBMC (as it was in Plex 8), albeit less
glamourously.
My main reason for moving from Plex was that playback of full BD rips is
(again IME) much better in XBMC/Live and XBMC/Win7 than I ever achieved in
Plex. And I achieve it on much cheaper hardware - bought for less than I
disposed of the Mac mini on ebay!
I hope P9 improves in the area of playback too.
