XP stalls during boot-up…
=85after changing out the hard disk for a larger one.
I=92ve ghosted each partition of my laptop HDD onto a new, larger hard disk
and have set the active partition correctly. The machine now gets through
the black win XP start screen but stalls part way through the blue
=93letterbox=94 XP logo screen just before the =93Welcome=94 page.
I=92ve also tried starting in safe mode and last known good configuration,

it still stops booting in the same place.
Googling suggested using the recovery console but I=92ve only got an XP
Pro=

=96 the laptop needs XP Home and only has a recovery partition. To cap it

Any ideas?
