I've had something similar...
A few years ago I picked up a work PC from Wigan, drive it to Surrey and it
failed to restart again when plugged in. No major shocks / drops etc. on
the
way home.

Replaced the PSU and all was fine. The comment from this list at the time
was that it was likely some of the capacitors had dried out - the PC had
been on 24/7 for literally a couple of years.

Do you have a spare PSU you could try, just as a test?
